Shirt J. Crew | Sweater Rachel Roy | Skirt Dorothy Perkins | Shoes Dorothy Perkins
Hey! So it goes with out saying that leather is in this fall/winter, just like it was last year, and just like it probably will be next fall/winter. If you don't have some cute leather pieces in your closet I suggest you pick some up. I'll be styling faux leather skirts this fall/winter on the blog so look out for my other posts. I have my eye on some leather pants, but they're currently not in the budget, so we'll see if I get them.
For this look I'm paying homage to Cher Horowitz and the 90's.
I got this faux leather skirt from Dorothy Perkins while I was in Belfast (yes, they spoiled me with clothes while I was away). Its super cute but some might think not appropriate for the office. I disagreed. Its the same length of any other mini you would where to work so the same styling rules apply. Leather can be worn to the office just like any other fabric if styled appropriately.
I paired the faux leather skirt with a crisp white blouse, to dress the look up. A spaghetti strap top paired with this leather skirt would be too casual for the office, and would have to be paired with a blazer at all times in an office setting. I suggest pairing a leather mini skirt with either a sleeveless blouse or long sleeve blouse, topped off with a blazer to make the look polished, and professional for the office setting. I wore the cropped sweater as a cute addition to the look to make it different from the typical blouse skirt combo.
Lastly, I paired this look with flats to shorten my long legs. I suggest wearing whatever heel height you typically wear, when wearing a mini skirt to the office.
Feel free to mix in some leather pieces to your work wardrobe. Styled appropriately, leather can be perfect for the office environment.
