Coat J.Crew | Top Zara | Skirt H&M | Belt H&M | Boots Steve Madden | Tights Old Navy (All items have been in my closet for awhile. Don't forget to always start with shopping your closet before shopping at stores. It's hard to know what to buy, if you don't know what you have!)
Shop the Look
All of the items from this weeks looks are from my closet. The beautiful J.Crew coat I am wearing is probably 5 years old. It is def a statement coat. If you didn't know, J.Crew is going through some growing pains after losing their CEO and Creative Director. They typically have always been so consistent with their variety and color selection for outwear. This year I think they missed the mark, however, I do think this just has to do with the changes. I'm hoping within the next 1-2 years they'll turn things around. If you don't have a statement coat in a bold color or with a cool design detail you should def look into getting one. It can really make a dull outfit look great.
Constant themes of this fall/winter on the blog has been leather, over the knee boots, and mesh. I'm always trying to find a way to purchase casual clothes (when you work 7 days a week I really have no use for them) because on the rare occasion I do have a day off I always feel to dressed up due to my business casual wardrobe. With that said this outfit would be great in a business casual or casual business setting. I also think it would be super cute if you had a date or drinks scheduled for after work. The belt gives the look a more professional look, while the wide mesh sleeves make it a fun top night time fun.
Have you worn mesh to the office recently? If so, post a pic on insta and tag #channyinthecity. I'd love to see how you styled your look.
