Spring Closet Update Featuring Boden Must Haves Vol.1

Hi Guys!

For the month of May all my posts will feature looks from Boden and White House Black Market, brands I'm trying out for the first time. I really love the quality, look and feel of all of the items I picked, and am so excited to share my feedback on both brands with you.

The first look featured in this series is of the flowing, beautifully made, Effie Silk Dress in Red Pop by Boden (I personally think the color is more orange than red).

The dress is exquisitely crafted, fully lined, and silk! It was $240 but is now on sale for $120 - $168, a pretty affordable price point given how great the dress. Most big box retailers don't make any clothes in 100% silk, and definitely not for under $300 dollars. A few years ago I had a co-worker ask me where she could buy a reasonably priced silk top and I was stomped. I could not think of a single brand that was selling quality silk for under $300. Thankfully I know about Boden now.

Shop the Look

Boden has so many office appropriate pieces in a great range of fabrics and sizes. I personally hate when the majority of the fabrics available from a retailer are mostly polyesters. Boden uses a range of fabrics including: cotton, silk, linen, tweed, polyester, etc. Now, I'm not saying all polys are bad, but some are made better than others. In addition to offering a great range of quality fabrics, Boden also offers a large range of sizes including regular, petite and long, ranging from sizes 2 -18. Their size predictor is very accurate. I used it to pick the sizes of all the items I'll be featuring, and they all fit like a glove.

Boden's site offers free shipping on all orders over $49, which isn't hard to get to. Most of their dresses on average are around $125-$150. They also offer a pretty generous return policy, check it out here.

I can't wait to show you the rest of the items I got from Boden. If you're anything like me, you like to stand out. Boden doesn't have any US stores (although you can buy their clothes through Nordstrom's site, I'm not sure if they have the clothes in stores), making them a great brand for US women who love to stand out. As you all know, I'm always looking for quality brands. I believe in quality clothes, not shopping for the sake of a brand's name. All of the clothes I'm featuring this month from Boden are of great quality, I was really impressed.

This look is appropriate for a conservative, business casual or casual office. It would be great for a summer day when you need that perfect dress to take you from the office to a night out on the town.
