I know in a business world that has become more casual than professional, women are rejoicing about the additional clothing options we now get to wear in the office. However, some days, especially when meeting with internal or external participants, nothing gives your outfit that right dash of sophistication more than a white button down blouse. As you all know, I love color, so it was easy for me to jazz up the boring typical white button down with a fun print, and colorful jacket. I know everyone doesn't have the same mind set as me when it comes to wearing color. If you'd like to start wearing more fun colors to work, pair your white button down with a pretty print skirt or pants (the jacket could be overkill for a novice).
This look is definitely appropriate for all offices, conservative, business casual and casual. In a casual office you could ditch the blazer for a more relaxed fitting jacket.
I know not everyone wears sandals to work, and some women don't like to go into the professional setting without pantyhose. As you can see I wear sandals to work, and have never worn pantyhose in my life. Another luxury of business casual work spaces, has really made these old requirements unnecessary. It's fine if you want to keep up with tradition (or you'd rather not display your legs and toes in the office), but if you're questioning whether you can wear sandals to work in the summer my response is yes. Just make sure they don't make your look too casual, there's a fine line try not to cross it. The sandals I'm wearing in this pic are perfect for any place because they're a slight peep toe.
After last May's blog posts featuring all new items, from new brands, I had never tried. This month I'll be featuring pieces from my closet that I've had for at least a year. I really don't shop that much. I know my sense of style and it's not in every season. Do you know your style? Try to discover it, it will discipline you to stop shopping when you don't need to. Shopping for the sake of shopping is what people with very little sense of style do. They have tons of clothes that they never wear because they're not in tune with their style. Try to find your style.
